Julianna Merten

Medical Writer

Julianna Merten serves as a Medical Writer for Syntaxx Communications. She is responsible for the development of a variety of medical communications products and services for various clients. She works collaboratively with clients and staff to ensure the delivery of polished, engaging, evidence-based, and on-time medical communications solutions.

Julianna brings more than 15 years of clinical practice experience in hematology, stem cell transplant, oncology and clinical research to the Medical Writing and Editing Team. Her prior experiences include clinical pharmacy specialist roles in acute and ambulatory care, Assistant Program Director for PGY-2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency Programs, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy, and clinical preceptor. She was actively engaged in research as the departmental chair of a research committee, a primary and co-investigator on multiple research projects, and taught research to residents and staff. She has contributed significantly to the publication of more than 40 manuscripts, book chapters, abstracts, and posters.

Julianna holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ferris State University College of Pharmacy in Big Rapids, Michigan, and active pharmacist licenses with the Minnesota and Michigan Boards of Pharmacy. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP). Julianna is a member of the American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation (ASBMT) Pharmacy Special Interest Group (SIG) and the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA).  She has served in committee leadership roles in both ASBMT and HOPA throughout her career.
