Mike Hooks

Dr. Hooks has more than 30 years of health care experience in the general hospital, academic, and private industry settings.  His extensive background includes grant writing, research, and the publication of numerous articles in various medical and scientific journals.
 
Dr. Hooks graduated from the University Of Georgia College Of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree, and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.  He completed an American Society of Health-System Pharmacy Accredited Post-Doctoral Residence at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA.  He is board certified in Pharmacotherapy from the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties.  Dr. Hooks currently serves as an adjunct faculty member for the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy.  He is a member of The American College of Clinical Pharmacy, The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, The American Pharmaceutical Association, Association of Cancer Executives, and The American Society of Clinical Oncology.  He is a three time Bristol-Myers Squibb President Award recipient and a recipient of the Pharmacist of the Year Award from the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
 
His extensive knowledge and understanding of hematology/oncology has also led Dr. Hooks to hold positions with the Georgia Cancer Coalition and the Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition.  As part of his involvement with the Georgia Cancer Coalition and the Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition, Dr. Hooks has led efforts to implement programs concerning cancer screening and management in a rural setting.
